Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax was found dead Thursday after an apparent murder-suicide, TMZ has learned.
D.C.’s WJLA-TV currently has a live stream outside the couple’s home, where the incident happened.
The Fairfax County Police Department tells TMZ … Fairfax, 47, and his wife were found dead at their home in Annandale, VA from gunshot wounds, with her body found in the basement and his in the bedroom.
According to police, Fairfax shot his wife dead and then turned the gun on himself.
We’re told cameras inside the home corroborate the account of a murder-suicide.

The former lieutenant governor served from 2018 to 2022 under Gov. Ralph Northam. He finished out his full term despite accusations of sexual assault brought by two women in 2019, which prompted calls for his resignation.
In 2021, he lost a gubernatorial race to Terry McAuliffe.

Fairfax and his wife, Cerina, have two children. The kids were reportedly home at the time of the shooting, and one of them reportedly called 911. The incident was initially called in as a possibly stabbing.
The couple reportedly met at Duke University and wed in 2006, but were reportedly going through a divorce.
