In yet another bizarre DUI stop caught on police bodycam, officers encountered a 25-year-old woman who drove her car onto the sidewalk in front of a suburban home — and refused to cooperate, insisting she needed to “call her lawyer” first.
“Why Don’t You Hang Up the Phone?”
The footage begins with the woman behind the wheel, still on the phone, as an officer firmly instructs her to hang up and step out of the vehicle. Instead, she hesitates — nervously asking,
“Um… what should I do?”
Despite repeated requests, she continues talking to someone on the line, claiming it’s her brother — who she says is a lawyer.
“He told me just to wait,” she insists.
“How much have you had to drink today?” the officer asks.
“Nothing,” she replies.
But the officer’s patience quickly wears thin as she refuses to comply.
“You See Where the Street Is, Right?”
As the tense standoff continues, the officer calmly points out that her car isn’t on the road at all — it’s on the sidewalk.
“You see where the street is, miss?” he asks.
“Yes,” she says quietly.
“How’d you end up up here on the sidewalk?”
“I… I don’t know, sir.”
The woman repeatedly claims she’s scared to talk to police because of “bad experiences,” while the officer explains that she’s now being detained due to suspicion of driving under the influence.
“Can I Talk to My Lawyer?”
Over and over, she pleads to call her lawyer before following instructions.
“I just wanna be safe,” she says.
“You’re running out of seconds,” the officer warns.
Even as she’s told she’s being detained, she continues to argue from inside the car, phone in hand, insisting she “hasn’t done anything wrong.”
When she finally mentions she’s been “calling Christian” — presumably her brother — the officer tells her bluntly:
“You’re interfering with our investigation.”
Arrested on the Spot
After several minutes of back-and-forth, the officer finally loses patience.
“Step out of the car,” he says firmly.
“Are you recording?” she asks.
“Yes, I am.”
“Oh my God,” she gasps.
Moments later, the officer declares,
“You’re under arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.”
The video ends as she’s removed from the car, still protesting and confused about what went wrong.
