In a surprising and unusual incident yesterday afternoon, several cats unexpectedly fell from the roof of a residential home into a living room below, startling the family and prompting a visit from animal control.
The incident took place at a house in [City or neighborhood], where the family’s feline pets had apparently climbed onto the roof through an open window. While exploring, the cats lost their footing and tumbled down through a skylight, landing safely in the living room.
“We heard a loud crash and found our cats looking a bit dazed but unharmed,” said homeowner Sarah Mitchell. “It was quite a shock, but thankfully no one was hurt, and the cats seem fine.”
Animal control officers arrived to check on the cats’ condition and ensured the house was safe to prevent further falls. The family plans to secure the skylight and windows to keep the curious cats from repeating their rooftop adventure.
Local veterinarians advise pet owners to keep windows and skylights properly screened, especially in homes with adventurous cats known for climbing.
“This is a rare but not unheard-of accident,” said Dr. Laura Greene, a local veterinarian. “Cats are naturally curious and agile, but they can sometimes misjudge heights or landings, so it’s important to keep an eye on their play areas.”
No injuries were reported, and the cats have since resumed their normal activities — though with a little less rooftop exploration.
