What started as a routine investigation quickly spiraled into a shocking discovery when police stumbled across a graphic murder video on the Instagram account of an 11-year-old child.
Officers were reportedly investigating a separate matter when they came across the child’s public social media profile. What they found next has left both the community and law enforcement reeling — a video appearing to show an actual murder being filmed and uploaded directly to the account.
Authorities say the footage was not shared accidentally — it had captions, effects, and had been posted for public viewing. Even more disturbing, the child allegedly interacted with comments and showed no signs of distress over the content.
Investigators are now trying to determine:
- Where the video was filmed
- Who the victim and perpetrators are
- And how an 11-year-old ended up with that footage in the first place.
Social media platforms have since removed the content, but not before screenshots and clips began circulating online, sparking outrage from parents, teachers, and youth safety advocates.
“This is beyond alarming. Kids are being exposed to content they should never even imagine, let alone share,” one official said.
Police are now working with cybercrime units and child protection services as they piece together how this horrifying situation unfolded.
