MONROE — A local woman was stopped by police late last night during a routine traffic interaction, according to authorities. The encounter reportedly occurred after officers observed the driver appearing to fall asleep at the wheel.
During the questioning, the woman confirmed that she had been traveling from and to Monroe, and denied making any stops along the way. Officers asked if she had consumed any alcohol, to which she responded negatively, although she mentioned spending time with friends earlier in the day.
Authorities also asked for her home address for verification purposes. The woman stated she lives on Monroe, referencing a location described as “Cherry Blossom.” Following standard procedure, officers asked her to step out of the vehicle to continue the investigation.
No citations or arrests were reported at the time of the interaction. Police remind drivers to remain alert and avoid fatigue while driving, especially during late hours.
