‘I had enough of his hatred’: On Monday night, CBS News tweeted—and then deleted—a video of a segment in which evening news anchor John Dickerson said the motive of Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson “remains elusive.”
Not anymore. Utah County district attorney Jeffrey Gray unveiled text messages between Robinson and his transgender lover in a press conference on Tuesday.
After shooting Kirk, Gray revealed, Robinson directed his lover to a note under his keyboard. It read, “I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.” In another text, he stated, “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”
The role of Robinson’s conservative parents is also fascinating. According to Gray, they recognized their son in the photos the FBI released. That prompted his father to ask him for a photograph of the rifle used in the killing, which belonged to his grandfather.
His parents ultimately persuaded him to turn himself in.
