What started as a confusing chat between a man and police has quickly gone viral for all the wrong reasons — and it’s got people online divided.
In the clip, officers can be heard repeatedly telling the man to “keep your hands out of your pockets”, after he appears nervous and confused during the encounter.
“I’m not concerned about what’s in my pockets,” the man insists, before being told again: “Please, sir, keep your hands out of your pockets.”
Things only get stranger from there. The man, who seems disoriented, says he got “confused” and “went out the wrong door,” before mentioning a woman named Josephine who apparently “used to live there.”
At one point, he even asks if he can “pee anywhere,” to which one officer calmly replies: “You’d rather not pee anywhere.”
The tone shifts dramatically when officers warn him not to reach into his pants again. “If you keep reaching in your pants, you’re gonna go to jail for resisting,” one officer says. Seconds later, the situation escalates, with officers shouting:
“Get on your knees! Put your hands behind your back!”
The clip ends with the man crying out, “I got Taser stars on my back!” as officers move to restrain him.
Viewers online have been split — some saying the police showed patience throughout, others arguing the man was clearly confused and needed help, not force.
One comment read:
“This was heartbreaking — he didn’t seem aggressive, just lost.”
Another defended the officers:
“They warned him like ten times. You can’t keep reaching in your pants when cops tell you not to.”
No word yet on what happened next, but the video has sparked another round of debate about how police handle encounters with people in distress.
