A man from Los Angeles, who utilized his X account to reveal the identities and locations of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), resulting in targeted violence aimed at disrupting immigration enforcement actions, has suggested that he may soon face criminal charges.
Jack Quillin has been recognized as the purported owner of the “LAScanner” X page, which provided rioters with a real-time map of ICE staging areas and raid targets as they unfolded.
On Friday night, federal agents were initially assaulted by rioters while they were executing immigration enforcement operations in the fashion district of Los Angeles, where a large mob converged on their location and launched an attack. Subsequently, the agents found themselves encircled in a federal building, as the Los Angeles Police Department took over two hours to respond.
Coordinated assaults persisted on Saturday, as federal agents faced ongoing attacks while preparing for a raid in the community of Paramount. Several ICE agents sustained injuries when rioters hurled large rocks at moving vehicles, resulting in shattered windshields.
In addition to revealing the locations of federal staging areas and raid targets, the LAScanner account also disclosed the identities of individual agents. This information includes their names, home addresses, the names of their family members, and their current hotel accommodations.
Quillin, who has a felony stalking conviction, seemed to acknowledge that he was operating the account before he deactivated it on Saturday night. Prior to this action, Quillin attempted to retract his prolonged doxxing campaign by asserting that he did not intend to provoke violence.
“LA25 riots are becoming increasingly intense,” LAScanner posted last night as the third consecutive day of rioting in Downtown Los Angeles intensified. “I genuinely hope this does not result in anyone losing their life — but it is beginning to feel as though it might,” he stated in another post before resuming his regular doxxing activities.
“If this account is banned, you can keep updated by following my personal page, @JackQuillinTV,” he mentioned in another post that linked to his personal X page, which has since been made private.
As rioters continued to throw large boulders and molotov cocktails at LA County Sheriff’s officers from an overpass above the Route 101 Freeway, Quillin deactivated the LAScanner account and indicated that he would soon be facing criminal charges.
“I wish to extend a formal apology. I should not have disclosed the locations of ICE raids, and I will refrain from doing so in the future. I have reached out to the authorities to take responsibility, and they are currently reviewing my account to ascertain if any laws were violated,” Quillin stated. “If it is determined that I have broken the law, I will fully cooperate and turn myself in.”
He further claimed that he is now experiencing the same doxxing tactics that he previously employed against others. “To anyone I may have endangered, I sincerely apologize. That was never my intention.”
The removal occurs as fresh information continues to surface regarding the origins and financial backers of the ongoing riots affecting Los Angeles County.
One of the primary organizations alleged to be instigating the riots is a taxpayer-supported activist group, while another has ties to the Chinese Communist Party, as reported by Data Republican.
The latter, known as the Coalition of Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), has received tens of millions of dollars in government funding during Joe Biden’s presidency. Last week, CHIRLA organized a rally, vocally opposing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations that are apprehending illegal migrants throughout the city, including individuals with serious violent crime convictions.
