A nanny is on the run after being caught on a Nest camera allegedly assaulting two young children in her care.
The disturbing incident reportedly took place in May at a home in Morrisania, The Bronx, and was captured by a camera inside the children’s room.
According to police, the nanny – identified by the family’s lawyer as Lakeysha Jackson – allegedly used a belt to hit a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old multiple times. A third child was also seen in the footage.
The family’s lawyer confirmed that the videos exist but said they have not been released publicly.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office confirmed that a warrant is out for Jackson’s arrest.
News 12 reports that Jackson worked through the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Homemaking Program. ACS said in a statement that it takes the allegations “very seriously” and confirmed that the contracted provider has terminated Jackson’s employment.
The family’s lawyer also revealed that Jackson knew she was being recorded by the Nest camera.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Jackson’s whereabouts to contact police.
