A border patrol officer was appalled by what he observed as a German shepherd sprang at a woman pushing a pram.
The border patrol officer had long been accustomed to the inquisitive gazes of tourists, but he hardly ever looked away from his devoted companion, Zora, a German shepherd with an acute intellect.
Among the employees, Zora was legendary. Not a single error in three years of service, dozens of crimes discovered. And it began like any other day until the dog started acting oddly.
Her head turned abruptly. A young woman carrying a baby stroller and a big purse caught her eye. The woman appeared suspicious, tense, and as like she was attempting to conceal something.
When the police said, “Zora, check,” the dog sprinted in the direction of the woman pushing the stroller.

With a shaky voice, the mother yanked the stroller forward:
Leave my son alone with your dog! He’s getting scared of her!
— Ma’am, this is a routine examination. From where do you originate?
From Germany. Straight flight. — she said too hastily.
The officer moved forward as the woman attempted to leave:
Please let me check on your youngster, Ma’am.
— This is ridiculous! Is a single mother being questioned by you? Due to a dog?
“Come back, Zora,” he said.
Zora, however, disobeyed. In her whole service, for the first time. She snarled, then gave a harsh bark.
The policeman moved in the direction of the stroller. The woman’s lips quivered, but she remained motionless. He raised the blanket. And froze when he saw it.

There’s a baby underneath. An actual one. His breathing was shallow, his face was pale, and his lips were turning blue. However, beneath the pillow…
With caution, the officer raised it. A metal cylinder bearing Arabic text was wrapped in layers of cloth, foil, and fabric. A tiny red light, too. It blinked, but not very much.
“A bo1 m1 b…” he silently said. — Screw it.
It was then that the woman fell, like though she had been bared. She refrained from crying. She didn’t yell. She merely muttered:
— This is not what I wanted. They made me do it. He is my son. Otherwise, they argued, he will die.
Security reacted right away. The explosive was defused, and the terminal was evacuated. The woman was taken into custody.

However, the tale did not stop there.
Two weeks later, the radio announced that another pregnant woman had been arrested at a different terminal on a different continent. With a stroller, too. Not of her own volition, either. Zora had yet another crucial task to complete.
