THIS was the poignant moment a woman married the love of her life – just one day before he died of a brain tumour at 22.
Guests performed an emotional haka as Maia Falwasser and Navar Herbert got hitched during a romantic backyard ceremony in Australia’s Gold Coast.
Navar died on Tuesday night after a lengthy battle with a cancerous sarcoma tumour.
The Gold Coast rugby union player was diagnosed with the tumour several months ago and his condition quickly deteriorated.
His wife Maia, who has an 11-month-old son with Navar, has since shared this footage of their day on a GoFundMe page she set up to raise money to fly Navar’s body back to his hometown of Kotahitanga Marae, New Zealand.
Maia says on the page: “Today my heart is heavy and sad, I lost my best friend, husband and the father to our son,” Maia wrote.
“I feel absolutely showered in LOVE by friends and family, this is a hard time, however I do find my strength and refuge in everybody’s support.”

In the footage, Navar’s groomsmen are seen helping him get dressed for the big day before wheeling him outside to wait for his future wife to walk down the aisle.
As Maia appears at his side, he holds her hand and tells her how much he loves her.
