Panic broke out on the runway in Denver this weekend when an American Airlines flight was forced to abort takeoffβand what happened next had everyone scrambling for their lives.
Flight 3023 was just about to lift off when a sudden bang was heard near the landing gear. Within seconds, smoke started pouring from underneath the aircraft, and the crew didnβt waste time. The pilot slammed the brakes and gave the order: βEvacuate!β
Emergency slides deployed in a flash, and passengers were seen sliding down to the tarmac, some still clutching bags (seriously?!). The runway turned into a full-blown scene as parents grabbed their kids, people screamed, and firefighters rushed in.
Authorities say one person was hospitalized with minor injuries, and five others were checked out on the spot.
Videos from the scene show the chaos unfolding in real time β and itβs enough to make even frequent flyers think twice.
American Airlines confirmed the aircraft is now out of service and an investigation is underway. FAA is digging into what exactly went wrong.
Safe to sayβ¦ this flight didnβt even get off the ground, but it still gave passengers the scare of their lives.
